  • don't like the light shafts in the tail, the color overall looks good
  • Yes ginger reds are funny birds to breed terry is right I just culled some males and pullets the males had black in the cheast the female's was to washed out like a black tail buff right now we have over 110 gingers hatched out now keep good type I like solid black tails on my female's.
  • I find a very fine line between black in the hackle and colored tail shafts. Do you other Ginger breeders fight this also? I tolerate the shaft at times because the birds with the colored shafts are clean in the hackle.
  • ours are black and clean, we have all ways culled for those problems. even the shafting in the females, we cull for that too
